Dr. Bicknell is a native of Louisiana and a graduate of Centenary College, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in geology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He then completed his graduate education at Texas A&M University with a Master of Science degree in geology. After working as a professional petroleum geologist, he was called to follow a different career path, medicine, where several of his family members had distinguished themselves. He entered LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine, to earn his MD degree. Dr. Bicknell served a residency at the same institution prior to completing a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Bicknell returned to Shreveport and became a partner in The Orthopaedic Clinic. He also served as an assistant clinical professor in the department of orthopedics at LSU Health Shreveport.
Dr. Bicknell is a member of Shreveport Medical Society, Louisiana Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
