Dr. Morgan graduated from Jesuit High School in Shreveport and obtained his undergraduate degree in
science, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. He earned
his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn., and then
served a residency in general surgery at the same institution. He also completed post graduate
studies in Flight Medicine at the Brooks School of Aerospace Medicine in San Antonio, Tex. He
served in the medical corps of the U.S. Air Force for four years and was awarded the U.S. Air
Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
With an interest in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Morgan completed a post graduate fellowship in
orthopaedic biomaterial at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and followed
that with a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Tulane. He also completed a fellowship in
sports medicine at North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center in Crows Nest, New
South Wales, Australia, and a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Mayo Clinic in
Rochester, Minn., where he was also an instructor in orthopaedics.
Dr. Morgan is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the
Tulane Caldwell Society, Hughston Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic surgeons, Louisiana
State Medical Society, Shreveport Medical Society and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
He is also on the board of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.
During his career Dr. Morgan has coauthored numerous journal publications and book chapters
and has been a speaker at regional, national and international meetings.
